EAL President Jan-Aage Torp was an invited delegate at the 32nd International Leadership Conference (ILC) in Seoul, Korea on August 26th-29th, sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF).
- I had five fantastic days at the ILC, states Jan-Aage Torp. - I was impressed by the strong pro-family and pro-Israel stance of UPF. I established relationships with political and religious leaders from all over the world, from every major segment of society.
The news release from UPF stated that «a select group of international participants were in attendance, including many current parliamentarians, along with religious leaders and civil society leaders».
According to the news release «the ILC was focused on the search for innovative solutions to some of the critical issues that we face on the local, national, regional and global levels, from climate change to the rise of extremist ideologies, humanitarian disasters, and conflict.»
The overriding theme of the ILC was «Peace, Development and the Role of Parliamentarians and Religious Leaders».
