More «Biblical» than the Bible?

Sometimes I ask myself during this coronavirus pandemic: Are some Christians being more «Biblical» than the prophets in the Acts of the Apostles?

Most Christians deal faithfully and realistically with the serious challenges.

Aina & I do so.

But a few sadly live in virtual denial. They deny the reality of this pest and plague.
Of course, they «know» that it is caused by some evil people with an evil agenda somewhere in «Timbuktu».....

I get messages and emails about this all the time.

It reminds me of a radio broadcast on local charismatic radio in Oslo in 1985 when two faith preachers declared that the reason for the persecution of Christians in the Soviet Union was that they had not read the books on faith by Kenneth Hagin! (Of course, Hagin himself would never have said that.) As a young pastor in Oslo at the time, I countered Biblically what they said in their selective «Biblical» misunderstanding.

True prophets should warn us about things to come and help us like Agabus in the Acts of the Apostles.

Please read here:
«Now in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world (this took place in the days of Claudius). So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul» (Acts 11:27-30).

Let us be the vibrant Church living and serving IN the world, not OF the world.
