What makes a Christian different?

New World Order and New Church Reformation

We all live on the same planet with the same needs, wishes and problems; the same challenges, hopes, joys and disappointments in life. What then makes a Christian different ?

What makes a Christian different? The Christian has learned (or is learning) to live a transformed and well ordered, re-formed, balanced life; a proper balance is required between where you are now and where you want to be later, between here and further down the road, between now and eternity, between living like a son of Adam and a child of God, between being a professional in any discipline and being an emissary of the Kingdom of God in this world, between being a friend of sinners and a hater of sin and the list can go on…

This all speaks and requires all-rounded proper balance, for the race we are in is not a sprint but a marathon.

Hebrews 12:1-2 "Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

You see, to be pertinent in this world we need to properly display a life of balance or else we are simply out of balance; to be eccentric may be attractive for some time but eventually you are set yourself to fall. The story of the fool who built his house on the sand versus the one who built it on the rocks is all about balance and solidity.

Matthew 7:26 "Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand."

Learning how to walk is very challenging to a toddler! He discovers the thrill of taking the first steps but also the disappointment of falling to the ground many, many times over until…the lesson of proper balance is learned !

Later we discover that God has given us two hands, two eyes, two ears, two arms and two legs and even, for the most fortunate, two parents ! You see in all these aspects of life God teaches us the vital importance of balance.

Even animals benefit from this law of balance; have you already seen a one-winged bird fly or a two legged-elephant walk? Everything in God’s creation is about proper balance. If it were not so, the infinitely big and small would not last an instant; everything would either implode or explose!

Everything was created directly by God’s word and his highly complex but balanced creation is a direct expression of  his  highly complex but balanced being. He creates everything from chaos to order; he is the Master builder, whereas, man in his foolishness and sinful condition has become a master destroyer of God’s created order.

Luke 11:23 "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me, scatters."

Matthew 12:25 "And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand."

Matthew 12:26 "If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?"

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men."

Colossians 1:15-18 Christ … "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything."

The issue here is standing and holding; things do not stand without a proper equilibrium.

Creation is held by Christ the very word of God made flesh! Wonderful!  So God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the creative agent of all known things (physical and spiritual, visible and invisible) and he has made things so well and balanced that he even said about mankind, that we are made into His image.

Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Do you see imbalance in this picture? Not until Satan came and stole Adam his birth right to govern and rule over the whole earth and its realm in his place.

So I believe that the “militant” Church and with it the new apostolic/prophetic company has to respond to a loud call for a proper, sound, wise, biblical, committed, determined, proactive and dynamic balance in displaying the gospel of the Kingdom in this world; this should be lived out in our daily lives, in our families, choices, services, professions, in the Body of Christ and in the world for all surrounding us to see and discover. Quite a challenge!

Once unbelievers see the  demonstration of  a totally committed, passionate, holy, spiritual and sound balanced life and ministry, yet facing and managing the concerns and things of this life in a wise, inspired and balanced way…nothing can beat that!

See what the people of Stephen’s days could do against his wisdom? Nothing.

Acts 6:8"And Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people. 9 But some men from what was called the Synagogue of the Freedmen, including both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, and some from Cilicia and Asia, rose up and argued with Stephen. 10 But they were unable to cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking."

Colossians 3:5-6 "Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person."
