We are the believers and the New Covenant people through the Blood of Jesus Christ. We are kings and priests according to the Word of God.
1 Peter 2:9; “but ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people…” Revelation 1:6; “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
God wants His Kingdom to come on earth and it will during the coming millennium reign of Jesus Christ. But already now He wants us to represent His will and His Kingdom as much as possible where ever we are and whatever we do. In our families, in midst of our friends, in different organizations, in our jobs, in business life and in governmental positions. We are His people and sent to represent Him.
When The Bible is speaking about us being kings, it mentions us being also priests. This is an important connection. We cannot be kings unto God if we are not in the first place priests unto Him. We have been called to seek Him in order to fulfill His will in our lives. Lord Jesus sent us like the Father sent him; to do the will of God. For this we have to know God and His will. This means we have to know His Word and His Spirit. This comes only by seeking Him from our hearts.
We have the authority to rule in Jesus Christ. According Paul’s letter to Ephesians God has seated us above all other dominion and all other names in Jesus Christ on the right side of Himself. Also Romans 5:17 speaks about us ruling in life through Jesus Christ. This all is possible in the Name of Jesus and in the power of Holy Spirit. But we cannot use the kingly position to do our own will.
Psalm 110:2 says: “The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.” We have to be on Mount Zion in order to rule. This means symbolically the Holy of Holiest, the Mountain of God. The same place where Moses was when God showed him the model of the Tabernacle. Later He said to Moses to see to it that he will build exactly according towhat was shown to him on the Mountain. Bible is speaking much about Zion; the Lamb of God and the King standing on Mount Zion. Daughter Zion is to rise up and shine the glory of God. In the Holy of Holiest all other voices has to be silent, only the Voice of God will be heard there.
Bible is speaking also about Jerusalem, that the blood of the prophets are found there and the whole Jerusalem is in uproar. This is symbolically like the Holy place in the temple; believers may be filled with the Holy Spirit having also gifts of the Spirit, but if they are not dead to their own will, God cannot rule through them. It’s like a market place, much people and many opinions. We have to open the narrow path to Mount Zion to be dead to ourselves and living to the will of God.
We are in Israel, Jerusalem or in Zion; in the Outer Court of the temple, in the Holy place or in the Holy of Holiest. Depending in which of these places we are in our present walk in God, we are either fleshly, soulish or spiritual believers.
If we want to rule bringing the Kingdom of God in to express in our lives, we have to make our way up to Mount Zion and to surrender fully to Him and to His will in order to glorify Him and not ourselves. Then we are the kings He is speaking about in His Word.
